Greg Hinz of Crain's Chicago Business reports on the endorsement of a couple of gubernatorial candidates by the Illinois Education Association, which represents 113,000 teachers outside of Chicago. For the Democrats the IEA picks Dan Hynes, who favors a big tax hike to pay for "education" (higher teacher salaries sans accountability) and opposes giving new teachers a less lucrative pension plan than those currently in the system.
For the Republicans they chose Kirk Dillard. He supports the two-tier plan and a tax increase.
Did Dillard promise something in return? Other GOP candidates are wondering.
