During my vacation in Cancun, I got in a lot of running--much of it on the beach. I stayed in the Moon Palace resort, and south of it there are no other hotels for at least six or seven miles.
But it wasn't unpopulated. I saw a couple of squatter huts, including this one.
Just before my turnaround point, I crossed a plank bridge near one of the huts, and about 10 feet from me was a man holding a machete as long as my arm.
Sheesh!
Luckily for me, he was using it to cut a plastic bottle in half. It was a very sharp machete.
When you run, you sometimes see some unique things.
