GOP comptroller candidate to protest Al Gore's Chicago appearance

With the possibility of snow on Thanksgiving, it's fitting that man-made global warming alarmist Al Gore will be in Chicago on Tuesday, plugging his latest epic, "Our Choice: A Plan to Solve the Climate Crisis."

But he won't be alone...

PROTESTERS TARGET GORE'S CHICAGO APPEARANCE

GOP Candidate for Comptroller William J. Kelly to Make Statement

PRESS CONFERENCE

TUESDAY, November 24, 2009, 12:00 p.m.

WHAT: GOP Candidate for Comptroller, William J. Kelly, who is one of the first Tea Party activists to run for office, will join Tea Party and other activists in their protest of Al Gore at his Chicago appearance. Protesters are outraged at the former vice president's advocacy of the U.S.'s shift to a cap-and-trade policy. Tea party activists have targeted nervous politicians for any support of the expensive carbon mandates that could cost taxpayers and families more than $200 billion a year.

On Monday, John Coleman, founder of the Weather Channel, announced his plans to sue Gore and companies that sell carbon credits for fraud. Gore also stands to benefit from carbon investing. Gore is chairman and founder of a private equity firm called Generation Investment Management (GIM). The London-based firm invests money from institutions and wealthy investors in companies that are going green.

WHERE: Borders State Street, 150 N. State Street, Chicago

CONTACT: Laura Grock, Martin E. Janis & Co. (312) 943-1106 or (312) 719-3257 (mobile)

I won't be able to attend, but I will be there in spirit. On a related note, I grew up watching John Coleman's weather forecasts on ABC 7 Chicago. I'm glad that he's still a productive member of society.

So what happened? I read another report that said Gore was confronted by protestors and fled down an alley. I'm trying to confirm but it appears nowhere (except a LaRouche website). Reply to nikki4th@yahoo.com
