As I've said many times here, government unions work endeavour to create more government--and the taxpayer loses.
The Chicago Tribune is reporting that a couple of more unions are getting involved in organizing more government workers, such as the United Autoworkers and the United Steelworkers:
In the past decade or so, many industrial unions also have gotten much more aggressive in going beyond their traditional boundaries as their core industries have withered.
For instance, the Auto Workers and Steelworkers have met success in organizing public workers in Michigan and Pennsylvania, respectively, states where both unions are well-known and have political power, (labor expert Rick) Hurd said.
Bold print emphasis is mine.
Wath your wallets, taxpayers.
