Here's what I hear from my Republican friends in the US Senate:
While the Democrats continue to hammer away on their proposal for government-run health care, Republican senators such as Minority Leader Mitch McConnell will continue to warn about the folly of rushing into the creation of another government bureaucracy that we may never be able to extricate ourselves from.
For instance, do we need another Medicare? If nothing is done, it will be bankrupt by 2017. Clearly there are serious flaws with Medicare, widespread fraud for one, and given what's been revealed about the the health care plans being written by n Max Baucus (D-MT) and Sen. Chris Dodd (D-CT--we could be on our way to creating another failed Washington progam.
For instance, the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office has estimated that the government health care plan will cost $1 trillion, but only cut the rands of the uninsured by one-third.
Meanwhile, several Republican senators have been studying the legal decisions of Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor.

You want to get rid of medicare? How about Social Security? Let's bring back segregation. The government just keeps on getting worse. Doesn't it?
