Peraica, the most visible opponent of County Board President Todd Stroger's corruption tax, is in the news this evening--but I'm sure he'd rather not be under such circumstances.
The Chicago Sun-Times explains why:
Police in west suburban Riverside said whoever pumped seven shots into a home Wednesday morning was likely targeting controversial Cook County Commissioner Tony Peraica, who lives next door.
"We believe right now Mr. Peraica was the target," Riverside Police Chief Tom Weitzel told the Sun-Times. "And that it was meant as some type of intimidation or message."
Police believe Cook County Commissioner Tony Peraica was the target of shots fired into a neighbor's Riverside home today. Shots were fired through the front window and front door, possibly to send a message or intimidate Peraica.
Peraica thinks he was the target.
Tony and I chatted a bit after the Chicago Tax Day Tea Party, and he told me that he was working hard to repeal Stroger's tax.
It appears his efforts are paying off.
But stay safe, Mr. Peraica.
