Since this is Memorial Day weekend, I dug into the My Mississippi Manifest Destiny file and found yours truly at the Vicksburg National Battlefield Park.
The specific site in Navy Circle, a Union fortification. Where I'm standing is where a Missouri artillery unit and an Iowa infantry company served.
The shiny part? Well, the Mississipppi River in the background, of course!
