Signing executive orders is easy, getting the funding for them, well, that's the job of Congress.
This afternoon the US Senate voted 90-6 to withhold funding for the Gitmo closing.
· All of the "no" votes came from Democrats: Dick Durbin (IL), Tom Harkin (IA), Pat Leahy (VT), Carl Levin (MI), Jack Reed (RI), and Sheldon Whitehouse (RI).
It's a big win for the Republican Party, as Byron York explains here, and the Los Angeles Times' Top of the Ticket blog informs us here.
It's also a big win for people who want a safe America.
