On my way home from the office, I did catch Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal's Republican response on WBBM-AM.
Here's a part I liked:
"Democratic leaders say their legislation will grow the economy. What it will do is grow the government, increase our taxes down the line, and saddle future generations with debt. Who among us would ask our children for a loan, so we could spend money we do not have, on things we do not need? That is precisely what the Democrats in Congress just did. It's irresponsible. And it's no way to strengthen our economy, create jobs, or build a prosperous future for our children."

Hm. Last I checked, President Bush and a Republican Senate inherited a national SURPLUS, and left us with by far the BIGGEST DEFICIT IN HISTORY. Even better - look what we have to show for it?!? So, how do they get to cry now about national spending?? For a party that identifies itself with fiscal responsibility, they need to hang their heads in shame and step aside, let Americans try and move this great country forward, for a change.
Well....after an eight year vacation from history, 9/11 happened, then came war.
Bush inherited a recession.
True, the GOP became spend-a-holics, but not on the level of the 2009 Dems.
Your boy Bush is an A**hole!
Clinton Lied, but nobody died!
Bobby Jindal is a joke. He is forgetting that it was his party which ruined our economy. This is not the time for cheap politics but some actions which Obama is doing.
He is cleaning mess you republicans created stupid jindal.
Jimbo,
You might be interested to know that more military personel died during the clinton administration than during the Bush admin.
maxkgates,
I don't like Jindal much either, but it is a democrat-pushed falacy that this crisis was caused by republicans or even republican ideals. Obama himself has been selling this line since he got into office, to take attention/fault off of himself and his democrat collegues. Then last night we see Pelosi, one of the biggest players in the cause of this crisis, grinning like a school girl who just found out that the boy she likes likes her too, gitty to no end that they have finally been able to put off once and for all the guise of bipartisanship. Happy day! And if you have been follwing the events since the election, you would see that except in his national adresses (and sometimes even in those, see first press conference), he has been palying nothing but cheap politics, all under the guise of supposedly "necessary" action. Well, action for the sake of action is not what we want.
And nothing about what the democrats, the president included, has done anything to "fix" any mess.
Happy you think so IZ. You really
should switch to decaf! You
Republican Rejects are great for
blaming the democrats, for your
Republican mistakes! More people
died during Bush's Reign, than
Clinton's eight years in office,
and that's a fact!
