Hamas leader killed

An Israeli air-strike in Gaza killed Hamas terrorist Nizar Rayan. Besides Rayan, the terrorist's four wives and ten of his children were killed. This is of course quite unfortunate, tragic actually, but the blame once again must go to Rayan.

Groups such as Hamas, as I've said before, overtly use use noncombatants, especially women and children, in the hopes of warding off attacks. They are aware that Israeli (and Western) stigmas against attacking civilians.

In that light, AP adds points out an interesting development:

In what appeared to be a new Israeli tactic, the military called at least some of the houses ahead of time to warn inhabitants of an impending attack. In some cases, it also fired a sound bomb to warn away civilians before flattening the homes with powerful missiles, Palestinians and Israeli defense officials said.

Hamas does not use the same tactic, and the terrorists fire their missiles directly into civilian areas.

I guess that's one less terrorist
Isreal has to deal with, but
there's thousands more where that
one came from.
