President-elect Barack Obama, who campaigned on the wistful theme of "Change," officially announced at a Chicago press conference several new prospective cabinet members, including Clintonistas Eric Holder for Attorney General, and Hillary Clinton (yes, a redundancy) for Secretary of State.
Robert Gates will retained by Obama as Secretary of Defense, Ret. Marine General James L. Jones, who was appointed by Condaleeza Rice last year as as special envoy for Middle East security, will be the president-elect's national security advisor.
That's change?
Rounding out today's picks are Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano for Homeland Security, and Susan Rice as US Ambassador to the United Nations.
Before opening up the event to questions, Vice President-elect Joseph Biden, who has been a member of the Senate for 36 years, spoke about these cabinet choices, and added a fitting exclamation point to the "sort of change" press conference.
