In attempting to explain Tony Rezko's rationale for buying the narrow strip of land to the south of his Hyde Park home I have my own theory--it was a backhanded loan to Barack Obama), the now-President-Elect told Chicago reporters that he thought that Rezko would develop the parcel.
Technically, Rita Rezko, the now-convicted felon's wife, bought the land, but it was Tony, not Rita, who walked through the home with Obama while the property was still for sale.
After Rezko's indictment, the "Rezko lot" has been sold twice. Now what?
Will the US Secret Service allow a skinny house facing east, or a block of rowhouses facing south, to be built there?
I have my doubts. Will Barack and Michelle buy it. Finally reuniting the parcel, and collecting, in a bizarre fashion, a loan from Tony Rezko.

oh give it up already!
Two words for you: Broadway Bank.
Don't give it up. They don't want to be reminded of the fact that Obama got a $200,000 discount on his house from Rezko. This has not been fully explained, and, sorry Obama folks, it's not going to go away. They've made all sorts of weasily excuses, trying to convince that Obama didn't return any favors. Okay, explain it...how did they happen to settle these land deals on the same day? It was Rezko's natural altruism you say? Yes, of course, Rezko appeared to be the kind of guy given to natural altruism. Okay, Obama is now president-elect and to indict him now would cause a political mess, maybe even riots from his supporters. Sooner or later, however, he's going to have to come clean about this, because he's already looking damned shady, and that's something his lofty speeches aren't going to erase.
I believe this article will give you explanation.
