It looks like for now, at least, there is no Congressional deal to address our financial crisis.
Debate tomorrow between John McCain and Barack Obama? I dunno. But if you need a Mississippi fix, scroll down one post.

John,
Do you have any insight as to why Republicans are obstructing the agreed-upon deal?
If it's truly a "crisis" as they keep saying why are they now blocking the plan that their own leaders worked out?
And as for the debate, why can't John McCain handle two things at once? If he's elected he'll have to work on more than just that in the Oval Office.
Oh it's a crisis, and the bill such as I've seen is flawed...
I don't like the idea of nationalizing all of these bad mortgages. Will the gov foreclose on some of these properties? Selling the debt, now or later, is the way to go. Sheesh, my mortgage (not a subprime, thank God) has been sold five or six times.
It's a big expansion of government.
That being said, we can't sit around and do nothing. An irregular heartbeat has to be treated, but maybe not right away. A heart attack does.
As for the deal being finalized, then blocked, that could be showmanship and posturing.
McCain used to fly fighter jets--you have to multitask to launch it, fly it, and land it.
There will be a debate. McCain has made a fool of himself with this political gimmick. Seventy five percent of Americans polled want a debate--he'd be a fool to say no. McCain could use some new advisers. He looks like a kid trying to get out of having to go to school because he hasn't done his homework.
John,
George W. Bush used to fly fighter jets too, when he wasn't AWOL.
That experience apparently didn't help him figure out how to be president either.
What does flying fighter jets have to do with backing out of debating someone he claims isn't experienced enough to lead and should've been debating him every week since June anyway? If he really thinks that little of Sen. Obama then debating him instead of derailing bailout agreements shouldn't be a problem.
