Chicago on a spring day

The best place in Chicago to get a great picture of the city's skyline is from 39th Street on the running path adjacent to Lake Michigan. Despite the surpise of a minor earthquake this morning, nature was good to Chicago today, with temperatures in the mid 70s.

I took this picture about two hours ago.

And yes, I know I haven't made that announcement I promised last night. Time to run first.

I think you're wrong about that being the best place to take a picture of the skyline. Shedd's aquarium is much better, and any smog/fog doesn't affect the photo. But, you will often have to stitch a couple of photos together, but it's totally worth it.

Yeah Kyle, smog can be a problem, even on a windy day like today.

But I like the breadth of this shot.

39th Street has a big advantage over the the Shedd area...parking!

From the north, the Chess Pavilion at North Ave. beach is good too.
