Atlas Shrugs brings up serious questions on Rev. Wright's Tinley Park home

I live in Morton Grove now, but I grew up southwest of Chicago in Palos Heights, which is just north of Tinley Park. That's where the Trinity United Church of Christ is building a $1 million home for its recently retired pastor, the Reverend Jeremiah Wright. As with Palos Heights, the African-American population in Tinley Park was negligible when I lived in the area. It still is. Which makes Tinley an odd choice for the retirement home, which will be a pretty nice one, for the former leader of the "unashamedly black" church.

Pam at Atlas Shrugs (from where I got the photograph) raises some serious questions about that home, and TUCC's Katrina fundraising drive.

Bill Warner has been doing some serious investigating on Obama's spiritual mentor, the Reverend Jeremiah Wright. Back on September 19, 2005, Trinity United Church of Christ ran a plea for cash on their bulletin. They were directly taking contributions/donations for "Hurricane Katrina" demanding that the check be made payable to Trinity United Church of Christ. "We are not taking clothing or non-perishable items". JUST CASH....why not the Red Cross as the "Pay to", who monitored the money, where did all the cash go, who monitored Rev. Wright and his non-profit church?

Due to the overwhelming response to the needs resulting from Hurricane Katrina, Trinity United Church of Christ is not accepting any clothing or non-perishable items. The church is accepting all monetary donations, however. Please make all checks or money orders payable to Trinity United Church of Christ. Write Trinity United Church of Christ on the "Pay to" line. On the line located next to the word “Memo” in the bottom left corner of the check, please write Katrina Relief. Mark your donation on Line 99 of your giving envelope. In 2007/2008. the Trinity United Church built a $1 million mansion (pictured above) for Wright (where did all this cash come from?)

Construction continues on the $1 million Tinley Park home Rev. Jeremiah Wright will move into after having it purchased by Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago.

And once again, why Tinley Park? Most of Chicago's South Side is predominantly African-American, as our several southern suburbs near the city limits.
