Obama visited home of ex-Weather Underground terrorists in '90s

More than a few liberal commentators on this blog commented that I was making something of almost nothing regarding Barack Obama's tie-ins with Bill "Bomber" Ayers (pictured in 1968) and his fellow ex-Weather Underground terrorist and wife, Bernardine Dohrn.

As for their terror past, both are unrepentant.

It turns out I was not grasping at straws. The Cult of Change leader is going to have trouble explaining this away during the general election campaign. But then again, if he's commander-in-chief of our armed forces next year, Obama can utilize his experience in working with former terrorists as he directs our War on Terror.

From Politico:

In 1995, State Senator Alice Palmer introduced her chosen successor, Barack Obama, to a few of the district's influential liberals at the home of two well known figures on the local left: William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn.

While Ayers and Dohrn may be thought of in Hyde Park as local activists, they're better known nationally as two of the most notorious — and unrepentant — figures from the violent fringe of the 1960s anti-war movement.

Now, as Obama runs for president, what two guests recall as an unremarkable gathering on the road to a minor elected office stands as a symbol of how swiftly he has risen from a man in the Hyde Park left to one closing in fast on the Democratic nomination for president.

"I can remember being one of a small group of people who came to Bill Ayers' house to learn that Alice Palmer was stepping down from the senate and running for Congress," said Dr. Quentin Young, a prominent Chicago physician and advocate for single-payer health care, of the informal gathering at the home of Ayers and his wife, Dohrn. "[Palmer] identified [Obama] as her successor."

Palmer chose to initially not to run for re-election for her State Senate seat and ran for the vacant 2nd Congressional District in 1995 office. Jesse Jackson, Jr. won the special election that fall, and Palmer decided to hang on to her state legislative seat. However, the Obama campaign challenged Palmer's petitions, and she did not appear on the spring 1996 Democratic Party ballot. In that heavily Democratic district--Obama was guaranteed a trip to Springfield.

And your loopy conspiracy theory comes in once again for a withering mockfest:

OMFG. He was once at Ayers’s house! I’ll bet that he an Bernadine traded bomb recipes in the kitchen while no one was looking! And he’s making that bomb right now, and he’s gonna throw it at John McCain, and win the White House, and turn it into a Code Pink safe house, where they’ll spend all day making bombs and blowing up stuff.

Next week, Ruberry will reveal that Obama also stood next to Ayers at a urinal in an Irish Bar on the south side of Chicago?

Sweet Jesus, do you really believe this crap you print, or are you trying for some odd, post-modern humor?

I mistakenly found this ragshit blog while investigating a CNN story I just endured. This is ridiculous...you think an aspiring candidate does background checks on everyone at every fundraiser or meeting. Someone running for office is out meeting everyone with any party influece every chance they get, primarily so they can promote an open mind and make their own decisions. You are an idiot and you should spend your time doing something more productive than vomiting your thoughts on the internet.

Ayers' middle name? HUSSEIN!

Bravo! Good for you! What courage to report this. The Obamamaniacs will try to sweep it under the carpet, but the Republicans will make much of this story. How can someone who wants to be the President of the US deal with people who wanted to destroy our country?

Also, did you notice the line about how Obama challenged the petiion of the lady who wanted to keep her seat? Is that hope and change or dirty politics? Add to that how the Obama campaign is strong arming super delagates to vote for him and you end up with a radical who practices same old dirty politics. That's why Hillary has a point when she says Obama's words don't match his actions. They don't. Obama will lose to McCain in the fall if he's the nominee. I just hope America wakes up quick from their Obama dream soon. Let's start an anyone but Obama campaign!

I think hes starting to lose his power as we speak. He has mesmirized this country for too long. PPl are now asking questions and hes going to have a hard time answering... He has no experience simple as that. In the mess we are in, we need true experience. The spellbound will awaken soon...,

My My My, you right wing freaks will really pull at any useless straw you can find won't you.
None of these so called Weather Underground "contacts" were ever charged or convicted of ANYTHING and Obama never participated with them in anything. But you know Rummy met with Saddam HUSSEIN multiple times, Bush practically slept with Donald Rumsfeld so yeah, let's run with the guilt by association thing - bring the troops home and continue the war on terror right here in D.C.
Invade the Rose garden

You morons

You Obamazoids ought to have your heads examined. Jesus obama could be caught waterboarding someone and you would shrug it off. What spell does this piece of crap have you all under anyways? None of you is old enough to remember the terror of these pieces of shit he is hanging around. You are all pissing children who think you are going to a cool rock concert. Ayers is scum. And yes, he wasn't convicted and that is only because the stupid FBI screwed up the surveilance, as usual. But it never stopped Ayers from bragging about how proud he was of his bombings for years to come. These people were killers and they are still the same radicals they were yesterday. They are true domestic terrorists. For all your claim to brains, the least you could do is google the weathermen, so at least you will know that this is not funny shit. So you keep trucking along following this fake Messiah. The rest of us are going to do our damdest to makes sure stupid people like you don't get this time bomb elected.

I don’t know how a few tough questions got slipped into a Democrat debate, but they did. The effect of those questions was to expose Barack Obama over and over again as an empty suit with no real working knowledge of the economy, taxes, or even an understanding of the American people and how they live.
Once again, he described religion as –not the way human beings relate to their Creator- but instead as a refuge people use when government doesn’t work. Apparently to him, God and government are equivocated. If government works properly, the people won’t need God! Hmm, given this, I guess he justifies calling himself a “religious man” only because of governmental failure, hence the need for “Change and Hope®” only he can deliver.
Obama not only came up with bad answers, but he showed that without a teleprompter and a professionally-written speech from a speechwriter, he is inarticulate, fumbling, and, at times, even incoherent.
Hillary pounded him on the issue of his spiritual mentor, Jeremiah Wright, saying, “you choose your pastor, not your family.” She also nailed him on his friendship with Weather Underground terrorist William Ayers. Although BO described him as a “neighbor,” Hillary pointed out that Obama and Ayers worked on a foundation together for years, even after Ayers wrote in the New York Times on Sept. 11, 2001, that he not only didn’t regret his terrorism upon the United States, but that he “wished he had done more (bombings).”
It got really cringe-worthy when Charlie asked about capital-gains tax rates, which Obama has pledged to raise. Charlie kept pointing out that decreasing the rates actually increased the revenues, and Obama fumbled around until he simply had to admit that it didn’t have anything to do with a prosperous economy, everything just had to be “fair.”
Ouch.

Then, it got truly hilarious when both Hillary and Obama fumbled through explanations of how they support the second amendment, but still backed gun bans.

Not only is there nothing “new” or “hopeful” about BO, he’s basically the next Jimmy Carter. We elected that idiot 32 years ago. And we’re still paying for it today.
The winner in this debate? McCain.

'Terrorist' seems a bit harsh for the Weathermen.. seeing as they never actually killed anyone (except some of their own, in an accidental explosion).. Destruction of property should not be considered terrorism.. hell, it shouldn't even be considered violence.

"Obama can use his experience in working with former terrorist.."

uhh... When Obama knew Ayers the Weather Underground didn't even exist anymore. Obama was around 8 when they committed any violence.

When you say things that are beyond stupid it doesn't advance your position much.

This is clearly a guilt by association sort of attack.

From the Wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ad_hominem

For example:
Ayers is a terrorist
Ayers donated to Mr. Obama
Ayers lived 2 blocks from Mr. Obama
Ayers is a member of an affordable housing project
Mr. Obama is a member of the same affordable housing project

Therefore
Mr.Obama is a terrorist

I would suggest that you lay out your direct arguments for Mr. Obama being a terrorist.

Here's an example that I think makes my point:

Kenneth Lay is a crook
Mr. Bush and Kenneth lay are good friends
Kenneth Lay donates money to George Bush
George Bush uses Ken Lay's private plane
George Bush calls ken Lay My Good friend and Kenny Boy

therefore:
George Bush is a crook

Its just not fair to use these kinds of attacks. they do not hold up under logical scrutiny.
