Obama and McCain sweep Illinois counties: UPDATED

Illinois has 102 counties, and the Republican winner, and the Democratic winner, won each one of them. John McCain of course was the GOP beneficiary, Barack Obama was the lucky Dem.

Bank on it--in November, the Republicans will win most of Illinois' counties. But almost 40 percent of the population lives in heavily Democratic Cook County.

UPDATE 11:30 PM: New totals give Mitt Romney Rock Island and Henry County, both are in the Quad Cities area. Mike Huckabee prevailed in two sparsely populated southern Illinois counties. Hillary won a dozen counties in the same part of the state.
