Sunday Night's Odds and Sods

Rockin' the Great Midwest and beyond, Sunday Night's Odds and Sods is back again!

No political philosophy, even conservatism, has a lock on truth and virtue. So tonight I'd like to point out the great work of a blog on the Left side of the radio dial, No Quarter USA. Like this blog, they've been in hot pursuit of my senator Barack Obama and his indicted pal, Antoin "Tony" Rezko. Here is just one great post.

Bill Hobbs is a great blogger from a state, Tennessee, that has a lot of great ones. Hobbs does a great job keeping an eye on vote fraud throughout our great country. On a very sad note, Bill is mourning the passing of his mother. Rest in peace, Harriet Hobbs.

Illinois has the distinction of having America's most disliked governor. It's not online yet, but the January edition of Chicago Magazine has a scathing appraisal of another one of Tony Rezko's friends, Democrat Rod Blagojevich. Chicago blogger Levois of It's My Mind excerpts a bit from the article, and add his insight.

Even the governor's own father-in-law, Chicago alderman Richard Mell, doesn't like him.

Since people vote with their wallets, it's important to keep an eye on how much, or how little, campaign cash our embattled governor is collecting. Reverse Spin takes a look.

This is something Tom Mannis, Mark Johnson, and I discussed on the Illinois GOP Network Blogtalk radio show a couple of hours ago.

Voters in Florida will participate in a primary election on Tuesday. Because of the arcane rules of the national parties, only Florida's Republican contest will mean much. And in the Sunshine State there is a blogger, Mr. G. of Peer Review FL, who is not panicking over the GOP general election prospects.

Last week I closed with a link to an Al Franken post, and this week I'll do the same. The comedian and former Air America radio host moved back to his home state of Minnesota to run for the US Senate, but he has his hands full fierce opposition from feisty incumbent Norm Coleman. If Franken wins the Democratic-Farm Labor nomination, this will be the most entertaining Senate race this fall. And a very win-able one for the Republican.

VOLunatarily Conservative has a Franken flip flop, or should I say, Franken-flippen-flopper YouTube video up.

VOLunatarily Conservative is another Tennessee blogger.

More Odds and Sods next Sunday.
