Lou Dobbs, a CNN host who had nothing to do with Wednesday's night debate fiasco, was in downtown Chicago at a Barnes and Noble plugging his new book, Independents Day: Awakening the American Spirit.
On the illegal immigration issue, my stand is that the real cure to our problem is not a long fence, better enforcement, or harder to forge ID cards. The disease is the kleptocracy of a nation known as Mexico. An honest government truly working for the advancement of Mexicans would keep Mexicans at home--which many would prefer to live, rather than slaughtering dozens of cows a day in Garden City, Kansas.
Working to improve Mexico, and snuffing out the druglords, should be what recently deported Elvira Arellano should be striving for now that she is living south of the Rio Grande--not conspiring with the open-borders crowd.
Surely the Mexican police, and the Mexican government, knows who the druglords are.
No, I didn't forget about Dobbs. In the YouTube video lovingly recorded by The Freedom Folks, a woman tells Dobbs that the US is to blame for the exposure deaths of many illegal immigrants in the brutal Arizona desert. Dobbs smacks her down, and puts the blame where it should be: on the Mexican government and its former president, Vicente Fox, not on the United States.
Pajamas Media's Bridget Johnson voices similar sentiments here.
