Seeking Steve Bartman
Steve Bartman, the infamous Chicago Cubs fan who tried to catch a foul ball that seemed within reach of Cubs leftfielder Moises Alou--and kickstarted a chain of events that eventually put the Florida Marlins into the World Series--an arena that Cubs haven't appeared in since 1945, is a much sought-after man these days.
The Cubs are in the Major League Baseball playoffs for the first time since 2003--The Year of Bartman, but Bartman is a hard man to track these days.
And recently no one has, as the Austin American Statesman reports.
In fairness to Bartman, Cub shortstop Alex Gonzalez later in the same inning bobbled a ball that could've resulted in a double play--and getting the North Siders out of the inning--and perhaps into the World Series.
