Obama in Pakistani quagmire

Sen. Barack Obama's comments on how he'd handle the War on Terror as president have put him in a well, quagmire.

Iranian-American Vali Reza Nasr, author of The Shia Revival and a senior fellow at Council on Foreign Relations, has this to say:

There is the Obama promise. There is the Obama message. And now there are the Obama words. They are not consistent with each other.

Ultimately, the tenor of Obama's argument is that he is going treat Pakistan as an enemy country.

I think it's important to remember that it's quite clear that after Obama's comments on meeting as president--without conditions--such creeps as Kim Jong Il and Hugo Chavez during the July 24 debate, ones that were called "naive" by Hillary Clinton, the Obama branding staff needed to do something to make Illinois' junior senator seem tough.

Oops.

And finally, do we really need more Bill Clinton-esqe governing-by-poll-numbers?
