The man blogging from No Man's Land.

Treo blogging from Guymon, Oklahoma. I briefly ventured out of Kansas today, travelling from Liberal through Oklahoma's panhandle. I made it to Texas--and its pahnhandle.

No Man's Land refers to Oklahoma's panhandle, it was the last part of the continental US to be organized as part of a territory, that was in 1889. Since there was no government, there was law enforcement, which made settlement difficult. Why start a farm or ranch, if you can't file a claim on "your" land.

I'm having an early dinner at the Guymon Pizza Hut, my server is Rob, she plays basketball at nearby Oklahoma Panhandle State University.

She asked if I was a photographer--I have two cameras, this Treo 650, my Blackberry Pearl on my table--both PDAs have cameras--so her assumption is logical. But I told her I was "just a blogger," and I handed her a Marthon Pundit card.

Ulysses, in Grant County Kansas is next. Where did they come up with that name?

Then the meat-processing town of Garden City. If it's anything like Dodge City and Liberal--the slaugherhouse towns I visited yesterday--it won't smell like a garden.

Guymon. or at least this Pizza Hut, must lean conservative. The Fox News Channel is on the TV. and there is country music playing over the restaurant's sound system.

Kansas Pizza Hut trivia: The nationwide restaurant chain opened its first outlet in Wichita in 1958.
