Obama finally denounces "Punjab" document

It took him three days, but Sen. Barack Obama denounces as "stupid" and "caustic" and "a screw-up on the part of our research team" a campaign document mocking Hillary Clinton's ties to the Indian American community--one that referred to the New York senator (D-Punjab).

He also added, "It wasn't anything I had seen or my senior staff had seen."

Obama made these remarks to reporters and editors at the Des Moines Register.

Barring any similar discoveries, it looks like the "Punjab" story will fade away.

But once again, Obama's "new kind of politics" isn't that different than the old one.
