White pelicans in Channahon, Illinois

I've seen many brown pelicans in Florida, but until two weeks ago I never saw white ones. But here is a whole flock of American white pelicans, they were wading in a former bend of the Des Plaines River that is now cut off by Front Street in Channahon, Illinois.

These pelicans have the second-largest wingspan of any bird native to North America.
