In response to the Wisconsin public-sector union dispute, the Communications Workers of America is planning a Nationwide Day of Action on April 4. That day was chosen because it is the anniversary of the 1968 assassination of Martin Luther King; he was in Memphis that day to lend support to striking sanitation workers.
The union is asking that its members wear red, the CWA color, that day, hand out flyers, and tie it all in with the memory of King.
I certainly hope this doesn't turn into an "If you are against us, you are against Martin Luther King" moment.
Joining this movement are some of the usual liberal suspects, but also the Sierra Club and the American Association of People with Disabilities.
The Sierra Club? What would John Muir think?
