Democrat in Michigan's 1st last in truth

Bereft of popular ideas to trumpet, the Democrats have resorted to running dishonest ads about the Fair Tax, including Michigan's 1st District where Gary McDowell is the Democratic nominee. The Hill is reporting in 15 other districts similar ads have run, which don't mention that the Fair Tax--a national sales tax--would replace--not supplement, the federal income tax.

AP made the trek up Interstate 75 to the 1st and learned that McDowell believes that passing ObamaCare was "a conservative thing to do." Huh?

Dr. Dan Benishek is the Republican candidate in the 1st, which covers Michigan's Upper Peninsula and a big chunk of its lower one. Speaking of "conservative," Benishek has been endorsed by the American Conservative Union Political Action Committee.
