Skokie Theatre at dusk

When it was known as Niles Center, Skokie, Illinois was a semi-rural town like many other in the early part of the twentieth century, there was a movie theatre in the center of town.

Originally called the Niles Center Theatre, the Skokie Theatre opened in 1915. Since I moved into neighboring Morton Grove, the mini-movie palace has been silent, shown Bollywood features, but now hosts occasional live performances.

Recently the neon sign was fixed, that's the way the theatre looked ten nights ago.
