Super Bowl performance.Lead singer Roger Daltrey's vocals were largely panned--and was he wearing a wig? No one ever got younger, and Father Time is not kind to the larynx.
There has been speculation that Daltrey was lip-syncing, and there is an awkward moment during "Won't Get Fooled Again" where his lips don't seem to match his vocals.
I can't tell for sure--so I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt.
But not on the hair.
Hey, wasn't Zak Starkey great on drums?
As for the light show--I loved it. And thank God that there weren't a bunch of twenty year-olds with matching all-inclusive-resort-type wrist bands frantically pretending they're ejoying the music, which have ruined previous Super Bowl halftime shows.

Daltry's vocals were weak, but Townsends were horrible. You could tell Pete's gone deaf whenever he tried singing.
After that performance they've been scratched from the "see them live" list.
Agreed.
I saw them in '79 and '80. Even w/o Keith Moon, they were great.
