Young Professionals for McCain infiltrates Chicago

Okay, the headline is a tease, as there are Republicans living in Chicago. Really.

CBS 2 Chicago has the story. Young Professionals for McCain met in downtown Chicago tonight. One member, perhaps in jest, said that John McCain could win Chicago. Sadly, that won't happen, but Illinois is not a lost cause for McCain--because I believe the Palin juggernaut will continue to make inroads among independents and "bitter" Democrats. We have some of them living here too.

The bad taste left in the mouths of Illinois voters by our last Republican governor, Terre Haute Federal Correctional Institute resident George H. Ryan, is wearing away. Time and the corrupt administration of his successor, Chicago Democrat Rod Blagojevich, is improving the GOP brand in the home state of the first Republican president.

It would be nice to see McCain and Sarah Palin come to Chicago. Perhaps they could speak in front of one of Tony Rezko's old slum buildings.
