There are several versions of the "Clean Coal" ad, but in honor of Pennsylyvanian Midnight Blue, I'm choosing the Keystone State version. McCain-Palin has recorded versions for Ohio, Colorado, and Virginia.
I'd like to add that the McCain campaign could record an Illinois coal ad. In 2004, Obama made campaign promises that he would revive the moribund Illinois coal mining industry. He has done nothing.
Here's the script for the ad:
ANNCR: Clean Coal is important to America. And to Pennsylvania.
For Pennsylvanians, coal means thousands of jobs.
Economic growth.
More affordable electricity.
For America, coal means energy independence.
And clean coal means cleaner air.
But Obama-Biden and their liberal allies oppose clean coal.

Do you know which states these will air in, and how big the media buy was? That info always offers insight into campaign strategy.
For example, if this is airing on broadcast TV, at say 1000 gross ratings points, I'd say the ad has a decent chance of making an impression with the voters.
If it is only a web release, or minimum cable tv purchase, then it is meant to be fodder for the chattering classes and let them try to impress the voters.
Anyway, do you know how much airtime, and in which states, this ad will run?
I've already sat through three Obama ads, I need to grab some Tums!

Oh, the ads (didn't I put that in the post?) will run in Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Colorado.
I don't know the frequency of the buy...I'm sure the info is available somewhere, sometime.
I do know someone who works at a Chicago ad agency, she hates this time of year--extra paperwork for political ads, plus they have to make sure some newbie doesn't give a discount to either campaign (a big no-no.)
They ought to run them in Kentucky too -- we have a lot of coal. I suppose they don't think we're in as much need of hearing them. We have only 8 electoral votes.
