Lori Lightfoot's "Summer of Joy" is almost upon us.
But of course Chicagoans are still shooting each other. Five were shot to death over the weekend, most notably, a 16-year-old who was killed at Millenium Park as a group of "yoots" gathered there Saturday night. On Sunday, Lightfoot, in a joyful mood no doubt, announced a nighttime curfew there for unaccompanied minors.
A 17-year-old is being held for allegedly killing the 16-year-old.
Elsewhere in Chicago at least 27 others were wounded.
