Elvis Costello & the Fairfield Four - That Day Is Done

The last song Paul McCartney and Elvis Costello wrote during their brief late 1980s song writing collaboration was "That Day Is Done."

It was an intensely personal song for Costello, as it was, like "Veronica," about his ailing grandmother.

After she passed way the duo completed the song. While McCartney is a better singer than Elvis--he's great too--but hey, Paul McCartney is one of rock's most gifted and accomplished vocalists.

Macca had first shot at the Costello collaboration tunes. He should have left this one for Costello.

Here is Elvis, backed by the Fairfield Four, singing a gospel-tinged on the Late Show with David Letterman "That Day Is Done."
