(Photo) Soda taxed in Crook County at 42 percent

Mrs. Marathon Pundit was shopping at the Dollar Tree today. While strolling the aisles she came across this display of AriZona Iced Tea, which was, wait for it, selling for one dollar.

But after the penny-per-ounce Cook County sugary drink tax is added, that $1 bottle becomes a $1.42 bottle of iced tea. That's a 42 percent rate. Oh, that doesn't include the nearly ten percent sales tax.

Nearly five decades of Democratic misrule in Crook County is showing bearing its predictable fruit. Cook County Board President Toni "Taxwkinkle" Preckwinkle needs to be banished from public life along with the supervisors--all Democrats--who voted for the hated soda tax.

When crossing Lake Cook Road someone put an R in the county sign. My cousin and I had to laugh as the sign now read "Crook County."

Last Thursday I purchased ~$50 worth of tea and mineral water in DuPage County. That lying hag Toni Preckwinkle and the rest of the corrupt Crook County pols can KISS MY ASS! I will drink lukewarm tap water before I pay 1 penny of this tax. AND, Marathon, as you well know, they know that they aren't going to collect what they said they would, which means they are even more corrupt and despicable than anyone can imagine.
