In the private sector--hey, even in most government agencies--it's unusual for all branches of an office to close for a full day for training.
But Chicago, one of the worst-run cities in America, has to be different. All 80 Chicago Public Library locations are closed today for what CPL is calling an "all staff institute day."
Why can't the training be stretched over a three-day period?
That won't work. My idea makes too much sense.
