Judge murdered outside of his Chiraq home

This South Side murder was included in my weekend tally of Chiraq killings. But the victim's identity wasn't known at the time.

From AP:
A judge who oversaw criminal cases in Cook County, Illinois, was shot to death early Monday outside his Chicago home and a woman he knew was shot and wounded, police said.

Investigators are looking at the possibility that the shooting of Associate Circuit Court Judge Raymond Myles and the acquaintance could have been part of an attempted robbery, although police don't believe anything was stolen from the victims or the house. Chicago police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said Myles also "may have been targeted for one reason or another."

While criminals in Chicago are increasingly brazen, a break-in at 5am is unusual. Sure, most people are asleep at the time--but they are usually home of course. Burglars usually want to limit risk like as any other person.
