#Chiraq: 1 dead and 22 wounded over weekend

For the first time since the relatively peaceful year of 2012 Chicago went six days without a fatal shooting. Predictably that stretch ended during the weekend, when a murder victim was discovered in an Austin vacant lot. He died from multiple gunshot wounds.

As for the respite from shooting deaths--guns aren't the only manner to commit a homicide. On Saturday a woman's body with from head trauma was found in a dumpster in the South Shore neighborhood. She was last seen two days earlier.

Over 500 people have been shot in Chiraq so far this year.
