Machete-attacker shot outside Louvre

Paris had been quiet lately in regards to terrorism.

No more.

From USA Today:
Police in France have arrested a man after he attacked a solider in a busy shopping district near the Louvre museum in central Paris in an incident the Prime Minister said has "the characteristics of terrorism". Local media reports have said the man shouted "Allahu Akbar", Arabic for "God is greatest", as he lunged at the solider with a machete. The solider then opened fire on the man but not before another solider was said to be wounded in the attack.

Yves Lefebvre, a police union official, said the attacker, who was carrying two backpacks and two machetes, attacked a soldier when he was told that he couldn't bring his bags into the mall.

“That’s when he got the knife out and that’s when he tried to stab the soldier,” Lefebvre said, according to the Associated Press.

Prime Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said the attack was "terrorist in nature."
