On this day in 1983: Reagan gives his Evil Empire speech

The greatest president of the 20th century gave one of his greatest speeches of his illustrious career. Ronald Reagan, in an address in Florida, called the Soviet Union an "evil empire."

Thirty-one years later, a hapless president can only shrug when a resurgent Russia snatches the Crimea from Ukraine.

How far we have fallen as a people.
