ILL-inois: State House speaker wants to spend $100 million in taxpayer funds on Obama library

Illinois is burdened by $100 billion in unfunded pension debt and it has $6 billion in unpaid bills. Yet the speaker of the state House, Chicago Democrat Michael Madigan, wants to spend $100 million in taxpayer funds on the Obama presidential library.

The madness never ends in ILL-inois.

On the other hand, using taxpayer dollars on an Obama library is a fitting yet appropriate tribute to the man who voted "present" so many times when he represented Chicago's South Side in the General Assembly.

Obama, like Illinois, revels in spending money that doesn't really exist.
