ILSen: Truax requests the media to ask 5 questions of Dick Durbin

Doug Truax, a Republican candidate for the US Senate, has some questions regarding the lifetime politician he wants to replace.

From a Truax press release:
NOTE: One in an occasional series of questions for Dick Durbin that he never gets asked by the news media or refuses to answer.
  1. Do you owe the people of Illinois and America an apology for repeatedly misleading them by saying if they liked their health insurance they could keep it?
  2. Six years ago when you were last running for re-election, Illinois' unemployment rate was 5.2% and 6,315,000 Illinoisans were employed. Today, unemployment is 8.9%, the fourth highest in the country, and only 5,939,000 Illinois residents are employed. That means under your watch, Illinois' unemployment rate has nearly doubled and 376,000 fewer Illinoisans are employed. By any fair measure, that is a record of profound decline and failure. Why should you be re-elected with that pitiful record?
  3. You never apologized to the American people for relaying a false story about Republican House Leadership disrespecting the President in a private meeting and then raising campaign funds based on the lie. Why haven’t you apologized to the American people and returned the campaign money raised under false pretenses?
  4. You have been strangely silent on the proposed Iranian nuclear deal. You have claimed to be a strong supporter of Israel yet you are saying nothing about a deal that is opposed by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the majority of the Israeli people, and people in your own party like Sens. Chuck Schumer and Robert Menendez. Where do you stand on the proposed deal the president cut?
  5. We like our leaders to show they learn from experience. Have you evolved over the years from your 1960′s liberal philosophy of tax, spend and regulate everything that moves? Other than abortion, is there a single major issue that you have changed your mind on because results showed your approach didn't work?
Doug Truax believes the state's steep economic decline could be reversed with a smaller national government, a simpler tax code and less burdensome regulations on businesses, including the disastrous Obamacare.

Truax, a West Point grad, Army veteran and successful entrepreneur/businessman, is asking supporters to come up with their own questions for Dick Durbin that they email via his website, dougtruax.com. He also is asking supporters to email, tweet or Facebook the above questions to any news media members they might know.

"Dick Durbin needs to be held accountable for failing to deliver results for the people of Illinois," Truax said.
