A week after calling ObamaCare a "train wreck," longtime Montana Senator Max Baucus announced he is retiring at the end of his term in 2014. This is a big deal because Baucus was one of the driving forces in passing the unpopular legislation.
The day before ObamaCare passed the Senate for the first time, Baucus seemed to be drunk while arguing its merits. Perhaps he was anticipating that train wreck.
This departure makes the Republican goal of recapturing the Senate a little bit easier.
