The weekend isn't over yet, but so far it's been a bloody one in Chicago. Seven people have been murdered--six were shot and a seventh was stabbed to death. At least 27 others were wounded.
In an op-ed for the Washington Post last month, Mayor Rahm Emanuel held Chicago up as an example of how to run a big city. Conveniently absent was a mention of the city's murder rate. Although Los Angeles has more residents--and the population of New York is nearly three times larger--more people were murdered in Rahm-town this year.
UPDATE December 3: There was an eighth murder last night.
