Illinois Route 29, north of Pekin |
Rezko is being held in the federal pokey on Illinois Route 29 in Pekin, which is near Peoria. Blago is counting the days in Colorado.
The interview lasted an hour, Korecki wrote in her report, which curiously didn't include any information about the president. Well, unless Korecki has another installment coming, it appears we won't know Rezko's version of the events that allowed the Obamas to purchase their South Side mansion--with the fixer's wife purchasing a strip of land adjacent to the property, "the Rezko lot." If questions about Obama were off-limits--it's Korecki's journalistic responsibility to tell her readers.
What about Rezko's 1990 job offer to Obama? Apparently we won't learn about that either--at least for now.
Former Rezko mansion, site of 2003 Obama fundraiser |
Of course Blago's attempt to sell Obama's old Senate seat was discussed. Rezko hosted a major fundraiser for Obama's Senate campaign at his Chicago North Shore mansion in 2003.
I am not a subscriber to the Sun-Times--and because I'm not, I can only view the paper online twenty times per-month. Unless I pay $6.99 every 30 days. Since Chicago's number-two paper can't bother getting to the bottom of a story, I'm glad I'm not wasting my money on it.
UPDATE May 31: Korecki revised her report. She added, "Rezko refused to talk about his former friend who went on to be elected president." Perhaps Korecki read my post.
