While on a personal running tour of Charlotte, North Carolina during Freedom Works' BlogCon, I found the a monument to the soldiers from Mecklenburg County who fought in World War I. It is located in the Government Center district of Charlotte.
Last year Frank Buckles, the last surviving veteran of the Great War, passed away.
