Avoiding nanny state rules: Recycle plastic bags, don't ban them

I've always been a proponent of the marketplace and the capitalist system solving society's problems, not government. I'm particularly averse to nanny state solutions, such as a move to ban plastic bags.

So I have some good news that actually involves the government. The American Progressive Bag Alliance is embracing an Illinois General Assembly bill, S.B. 3442, that will create a statewide standard for plastic bag recycling.

This move makes much more sense than unilaterally banning plastic bags.
