Plastic bag ban to go national?

You learn so many things by going to Big Government.com. In 2007, San Francisco banned plastic bags. Nearby Santa Cruz County recently became the latest government body to ban them.

Driving south on Interstate 5, you'll learn that not only has Los Angeles County banned plastic bags, but they also have a 10 cents-per-bag tax on paper bags. A challenge to that ban was recently defeated in circuit court.

Okay, perhaps you don't live in California. But there are public officials in several states, including my own dysfunctional Illinois, who are considering bans on plastic bags.

But there is an online petition you can sign to express your opposition.
