Big Labor wins one in Ohio

Big Labor's forces descended opon Ohio and by winning yesterday's referendum, it reverses Governor John Kasich's budget repair bill that takes away collective bargaining for public sector workers and bans them from striking.

It appears that Kasich made a tactical error rather than a strategic one. Similar reforms in Wisconsin exempted first responders.

Still, Big Labor shouldn't be too cocky. Ohio's economic problems predate the long recession, population growth in the Buckeye State is anemic--the money to fund the largess isn't there anymore--if it ever was.

It was a referendum, not alchemy.

An off-year turnout skewed the results, although supporters of the referendum achieved 61 percent of the vote. A union-backed coalition poured $24 million into the race, which is money that can't be used in other races.

Alchemy can't manufacture gold, nor can it be used to print money. As for the latter, the federal government does print cash, but that's another topic for another time.

This should be the turning point for the election next year. I hope all working middle class voters come to the poll in 2012 and realize they gave the far right nuts the 2010 election by not turning out in mass.We Independents will help you against all bible thumping religious fanatics and tea bagging lunatics of the Republican party. The debacle in the house is caused by the Dem's not voting and giving the house to the flat earth folks (tea baggers). Lets change this in 2012!VOTE
