Confront Obama about unions during tomorrow's Facebook townhall

President Obama will be holding a Facebook townhall meeting on Wednesday afternoon. For those unionized air traffic controllers, please make sure you are awake for this event. (Cheap shot, I know.) I'm not worried about everyone else.

The Workforce Fairness Institute has some questions that might serve as a wake up call for the president:

President Obama will be hosting a Facebook townhall next Wednesday to connect with Americans across the country. This is a very unique opportunity for WFI members to interact with the President directly about the Big Labor issues you care about most.

The event is described as an occasion to "discuss the tough choices we must all make in order to put our economy on a more responsible fiscal path." The President needs to be reminded that he must face "tough choices" regarding his alliance with Big Labor.

Here's How It Will Work:

President Obama will appear with Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and COO Sheryl Sandberg at Facebook headquarters to answer questions live for about an hour on Wednesday, April 20 at 4:45pm EST/1:45pm PST. You can watch the event and submit a question on either Facebook or the White House's Website, so you DO NOT need to belong to Facebook to participate.

Facebook will be selecting representative questions from the thousands submitted. Therefore, the more often a particular question or type of question is asked, the more likely it will be selected for the President to answer. That's why we need as many WFI members as possible to submit questions about Big Labor Bailouts!

Please be sure to view the event and take action by submitting one or more questions about Big Labor. You may want to submit something similar to the following questions:
  • Do you believe an individual should have the right to work without being forced to join a union?
  • Do you think the NLRB has the right to close the workplace election window or mandate card check even without Congressional approval?
  • Should secret ballots be used in the 2012 Presidential Election? How about when holding an election to form a union? Please explain any differences between your answers.
  • Does selecting union workers over non-union workers for a government contract cost taxpayers more? If so, do you think taxpayers are getting a better value due to the fact your administration is mandating government choose union workers over non-union workers?
  • Does AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka talk to someone from the White House every day, including weekends?
  • Do you think Facebook, Inc. would be more or less innovative if it were unionized?
