Bachmann headed to Iowa, possible 2012 presidential run?

Tea Party favorite Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) will visit Iowa today--and the Des Moines Register is reporting that she appears to be making preparations for a presidential run. Bachmann will headline a reception for Iowans for Tax Relief.

The Iowa Caucuses are tentatively scheduled for February 6, 2012.

"Whether I am there as a candidate or whether I am there as someone who wants to contribute to the conversation for 2012, the people who are part of the caucus system are really there for the right reason," Bachmann said. "And I really want to meet with these people because they want to turn our country in a positive direction."

Bachmann is an Iowa native, she grew up in Cedar Falls.
