A baby step for White House on oil drilling

Kicking and screaming perhaps, but the Obama administration will allow some deepwater drilling to resume in the Gulf of Mexico. On Fox News a few minutes ago, Stuart Varney said the White House was "not a willing participant" in this baby step of drilling.

That's right a baby step. Thirteen companies will be allowed to drill again at sixteen wells, but none of these are new wells.

The Obama administration is obviously feeling the heat over high gasonline prices. But as the economy improves, people will drive more, which will increase demand for gasoline.

We need more than baby steps.
